I’m so excited to introduce my NEW Cuddles the Hexi Bear Rug Quilting Pattern! As you can see, my best friend Buddy has already claimed his spot on the rug…his big doggy smile just melts my heart.
This modern quilting design will make a nice addition to any home. You can even use it as a wall hanging to decorate your craft room.
About The Pattern:
My Hexi Bear is a hexagon shaped log cabin design with curved edges, it measures 45” X 34-1⁄2”. You can choose to do regular machine piecing, or use a quilt-as-you-go technique (both instructions are included in the pattern). Bias binding tutorial is also available on my blog in case you need additional help.
The pattern is in PDF format with 43 pages / 3.9 MB (mobile devices friendly). It is written using imperial system (US terms) with step-by-step images, quilting diagrams, and printable templates. You will need a printer and Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to print the templates correctly, there are 23 printable pages in the pattern.
SKILLS: Sewing with a 1/4″ seam allowance for regular piecing or with a scant 1/4″ seam for quilt-as-you-go, log cabin piecing, using printable templates, cutting trapezoids & parallelograms, using 60 degree corner trimmer, free motion quilting or walking foot quilting (optional), bias binding for scalloped edges.
I love precuts! To make my gray Jelly Roll Bear, I used Lily & Loom Over the Moon 2-1⁄2” fabric strips. There are 40 pieces of dark and light gray fabrics in the roll; you can use them for the head, muzzle, and eyes. The nose is made from the matching Lily & Loom Farmer’s Market fabric.
You can also cut your own strips, or use fabric scraps, or even upcycle your old jeans.
