Quilting With Rulers and Free Motion

My First Quilt in 2019

I know I am a little late, but since this is my first blog post this year, I would like to say Happy New year to all my quilting friends & I hope your 2019 will be filled with many exciting projects!

I had such a blast quilting this adorable cuddle quilt for our Quilt Guild during the Holiday season. The koala bear top was pieced by CK Quilters’ Guild members & I used my BERNINA Q20 sit down machine to quilt it. This sweet little quilt has a lot of free motion quilting and ruler work, which shows so nicely on a solid-colored flannel backing.

Last summer I received a few fabulous quilting rulers for my birthday…and I finally got to play with Squiggy – such a cute little ruler designed by Angela Walters; I used it for quilting borders on this cuddle quilt. Squiggy fits nicely in my hands and it’s easy to move it along with the fabric. I also like the grids on the back, no need to add anything extra – it’s ready for quilting and has great markings. You can find this ruler on Amazon (affiliate link) or in your local quilt shops.

I am very excited about my new projects and quilting patterns this year & I absolutely can’t wait to share them with you. Happy quilting!
